Air Fryer Honey Barbecue Chicken Wings

Alitas de pollo en freidora de aire sin aceite airfrier wings airfryer

There’s absolutely nothing we love more than a great chicken wings recipe. Their versatility allows us to serve them alone, with side dishes, for dinner, for entertaining guests, and other endless options. This Air Fryer chicken wings recipe is specifically made for those of us who love a sweet and salty mix.

This recipe has a very short preparation and cooking time, making it a quick and easy option for those days when we prefer to use our time towards something else. It’s also great for game nights, since they cook fast and can be served warm. We love to make an extra batch of the honey-bbq sauce to use for dipping, or use Sriracha sauce for an extra kick. The great thing about this recipe is that no matter how you serve it, it’s going to make everybody glad to be in your kitchen! If you try it and love it, let us know in the comments!

Yields4 Servings
Cook Time30 mins

 2 lbs Chicken wings
 1 tsp Sea salt
 1 tsp Garlic powder
 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
 ½ tsp Ground black pepper
 ¼ tsp Baking powder
 1 cup Barbecue sauce
 ½ cup Honey

1

Place the chicken wings on a baking tray and pat thoroughly with a paper towel to dry.

2

In a bowl, combine salt, garlic powder, pepper, smoked paprika, black pepper, and baking powder.

3

Rub the mixture into the chicken wings until well coated.

4

Preheat the air fryer at 390°F for 5 minutes.

5

Add wings to the Air Fryer and cook for 20 minutes. Be careful not to overcrowd the basket. You can use an air fryer rack like this one to cook more wings at once without overcrowding.

6

Flip the wings halfway through the cooking time.

7

Make sure that the chicken has reached an internal temperature of 165° F using a food thermometer. (If you don't already have one, you can get one here)

8

In another bowl, combine the honey and barbecue sauce, mix well.

9

Remove chicken from the fryer and place it in a baking tray. Brush the chicken wings with honey barbecue sauce on both sides.

10

Return the chicken to the air fryer and cook for an additional 5 minutes at 400°F until the honey barbecue sauce has dried and crisped. (Be careful not to overcook the chicken!)

11

You can make another batch of the honey-bbq sauce to dip your wings once served. Enjoy!
