Convection Oven Bacon

We love making bacon in our convection oven, especially because it prevents grease and fat from splattering all over our kitchen. Cooking bacon this way not only allows you to multi-task more, but it also keeps all the mess in one place and it’s easier to clean.

The trick to cooking bacon in the convection oven is to cook is slowly, the slower the bacon cooks, the crispier it gets. Another trick to make sure it’s crispy, but not dry, is to splash a little bit of water on it prior to cooking. We enjoy our bacon for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. For breakfast, we put it in an egg sandwich, for lunch, we cut up bits to mix in with salad, and with dinner, we also use bits to cook with green beans. We love the versatility of bacon and the flavor it adds to our dishes!

Yields6 Servings
Cook Time20 mins

 8 oz thick-cut bacon
 1 tbsp water

1

Line your rack, pan or tray with a non-stick agent to prevent the bacon from sticking. Place the bacon strips on top, spread out and not overlapping.

2

Drizzle a little bit of water on top of the bacon.

3

Turn on your oven and set it to 400°F.

4

Cook for 12 to 18 minutes, while looking closely at the bacon. The total cooking time will depend on the thickness of your bacon. Check the bacon after 10 minutes to make sure it won’t burn.

5

Flip the bacon carefully using tongs, and rotate your rack, pan or tray.

6

Cook for another 5 to 10 minutes, until the bacon turns golden brown and reaches your desired crispiness.

7

While waiting for the bacon to cook, prepare a plate with a paper towel. Once the bacon is done, place all the strips on the paper towel to absorb the excess grease.
